Haul: Skinstore.com

So…my wedding is in a month. My skin is awful. So I decided it was time for me to get serious about skincare. I have a lot of redness in my face, and very sensitive skin. It is combination — very dry on the cheeks and forehead, but oily around the nose and chin. And I have large pores, especially around my nose, and rough skin texture on my forehead…ick!

I had tried Clinique Redness Solutions for a while; I have it on my to-do list for a review, but to sum it up, for me it wasn’t enough to combat the redness enough for me to stay on it, and it did nothing for my skin texture. So after using it for about two months, I went back to my old routine of Aveeno Calming Cleanser and Cetaphil Lotion. It was after a couple weeks of this that I realized that while the Clinique line wasn’t a miracle product for getting rid of the redness for me, it had been keeping the redness at bay from getting OMG worse, which it did while I was using the old routine.

So here I was last week, trying to figure out what to do about my face and its myriad of problems. I had been browsing the internet to see if I could find something to try, and found a few blog posts and reviews on other websites recommending a slew of different products. What I decided upon was a combination of things, but mostly the Sothys line products for sensitive skin and redness. This is what I ordered:

L-R: Sothys Soothing Beauty Milk, Sothys Soothing Lotion, Sothys Immuniscience Cream, Abella Renewal Gel (10% Glycolic)

I also ordered Sothys’ Clear and Comfort Refreshing Mask, but it is on backorder.

I am using these right now in an order similar to the Renee Rouleau regimen on her website for my skin type, just with different brands of products. I am hoping this will clear my skin up a little bit in time for the wedding, but we’ll see! I’ll be wearing makeup one way or another, but I would like to be able to wear less sometimes.

Skinstore.com was where I decided to order from, and I am very pleased that I did. I was able to use a 20% off code when I ordered and received free shipping for my order being over $49. I received my order 3 days after I placed it, which was very nice. It was very well packaged. Included in my order were two free samples and a catalog with another 20% off code. Overall, I am very pleased with Skinstore.com and will likely continue to use them for skincare products even if I end up not sticking with the Sothys line.
